Big plans, broken
into small steps.

Tatask is a to-do list where any task can hold its own list. Break down the projects you’ve been putting off, star what you’ll do today, and use the same list on the web, iPhone and Android.

Garden refresh

Redesign patio area

Click any task to open it, add a step at the bottom of a column, and tick a box to finish it.

Your projects have parts. Your list should too.

On a flat list, “Garden refresh” and “Water the plants” take up one line each. One is a weekend, the other is two minutes. The big one sits at the bottom for weeks because there’s nowhere obvious to start.

In Tatask, a task opens up into its own list. The garden becomes the patio, the flower beds and the lighting. The patio becomes choosing tiles and ordering samples. You keep going until the next step is something you could do this afternoon, and everything else stays folded away inside its parent.

How nested tasks work

A flat list
  • Garden refresh
  • Order sample pack
  • Plan summer holiday
  • Water the houseplants
  • Quarterly report
The same list in Tatask
  • Garden refresh
    • Redesign patio area
      • Compare porcelain vs slate
    • Planting and flower beds
  • Plan summer holiday

Three habits, and no setup.

There are no projects, areas or folders to create first. Everything starts as a task.

  1. Write it down

Type whatever’s on your mind and press Enter. Add a #tag if it helps.

  2. Break it down

Open anything that feels heavy and add its parts underneath. Repeat until the next step is obvious.

  3. Star today’s steps

Star the handful you’ll do today. They gather in Today, wherever they live in the tree.

Plan today in a minute.

Star a task anywhere in your tree and it joins Today, your short list for the day. Everything else waits until tomorrow.

Today

Read 20 pages

Today only holds what you chose, so it never fills up behind your back with everything that happens to have a date. Dated tasks have their own Due list.

On your phone, a short swipe left stars a task and a swipe right completes it.

More about Today

Small features that each do one job.

There’s nothing to configure and nothing that nags you.

  • Due dates and repeats

Today, Tomorrow or Next week in one click. Repeat daily, on chosen weekdays, on set dates each month or once a year.

  • Tags as you type

Write #home or #calls in any task. Each tag gets a view of its own, across every project.

  • Works offline

Every device keeps a full copy of your list. Add and tick things off without signal; it syncs when you’re back.

  • Progress at a glance

Parent tasks show a ring that fills as their steps get done, so you can see how far along a project is.

  • Made for thumbs

On your phone, swipe right to complete and give a short swipe left to star. A longer swipe edits or schedules.

  • Search everything

Find any task by typing. On the web, press ⌘K from anywhere.

  • An archive of done

Finished work moves out of the way but stays findable, which is nice to look back on.

  • Make it yours

Light or dark, twelve accent colours, and a background image of your choosing on the web.

On your laptop and in your pocket.

Plan the week at your desk. Tick things off on your phone. It’s the same list, and one subscription covers both.

What people say.

A few words from people who plan with Tatask.

As a to do list person, this app has taken things to the next level for me. I love that I can create lists within lists, and break down the massive daunting scary tasks into manageable actions that are way less scary. Thank you Tatask!

Rosie D.Consultant

Ditching Trello for Tatask has paid off big time. Gone are the endless scattered boards and now I have a natural structure for everything I'm working on. It's as simple as Trello but 10x more powerful. Highly recommend!

Alexander C.Product Associate

I just love the flexibility of Tatask. I use it to track development of my startups, mostly, but also building marketing sites, and really anything.

Stuart B.Founder

Tatask has been a game changer for how I handle todo's. I would assume more and more todo apps going in this direction in the future.

Samuel S.SaaS founder

Loving using Tatask to centralise my many to-do lists and thoughts. Easy to use, simple but powerful. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to supercharge their productivity!

I make Tatask on my own.

Hi, I’m Max. I design, build and support Tatask on my own. I started it in 2022 as a weekend project, because I wanted a task app that worked the way I plan: big goals, broken into smaller and smaller pieces.

I’d searched for the perfect task management app for years. In the end I gave up and built my own.

Tatask gets better when I find something that would make my own days easier, or when someone emails me with an idea. There’s no support team or ticket queue: every email comes straight to me, and I reply to all of them.

Questions.

What is Tatask?

A to-do app where any task can hold its own list of subtasks, as many levels deep as you need. You break big jobs into small steps, star the ones you will do today, and use it on the web, iPhone and Android.

Is there a free plan?

No. There is a 30-day free trial with everything included, then it costs $5 a month or $50 a year. You need a card to start the trial, and you can cancel before it ends.

Does one subscription cover the web and my phone?

Yes. Subscribe on the web or in the App Store or Google Play, and the same account works everywhere you sign in.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Each device keeps a full copy of your tasks, so you can add, edit and complete things without a connection. Changes sync when you are back online.
